The East Bay,

Neighborhood by Neighborhood

I grew up in South Berkeley, and have spent my entire career working across the East Bay. These aren't markets I researched, they're places I've lived, eaten, played, and helped hundreds of families put down roots.

Oakland

Too big and beautiful to be summed up in one page, click in to explore the many neighborhoods of this historic and dynamic city.

Berkeley

I like to think of Berkeley as a worldly city, full of flavor and ethnicities and crazy good food. But, with a small town feel. You will run into people you know everywhere, and it is a very tight community of professionals, makers, and educators. Click here to explore its many neighborhoods.

Cities

Albany

One of the best - kept secrets in the East Bay. Small city, great schools, safe streets, served by two BART stations.

Lafayette

The Mill Valley of the East Bay. Las Trampas Creek trail, excellent schools, and a walkable little downtown.

Pleasant Hill

Solid residential city with three shopping areas. Pro tip: Oak Park Road cuts through to Martinez when traffic is ugly.

Richmond

Just north of El Cerrito with BART access and distinct neighborhoods — the Flats, the View, and El Sobrante.

Martinez

Small waterfront city with a real small-town feel. Amtrak stop, marina, its own baseball team, none of the pretension.

El Cerrito

Underrated and family-friendly. Hill section with bay views, great schools, and an easy BART commute.
